What you'll find at the Library


Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus

Level 1 - Health and Medical Library Hub. You will find books (call numbers 610-619); journals; individual study spaces such as lounge areas; group study rooms; computers; lockers; equipment to print, copy and scan.

Level 2 (the entrance level) - Step past the main entrance and you will enter a library for the twenty-first century. You will find books (call numbers 000-599), the reference section, the Curriculum Resource Collection (CRC), individual and group study spaces - such as café-style booths and group study rooms fitted with plasma screens - a training room including state-of-the-art technology, toilets, lockers and equipment to print, copy and scan. Café 641, located to the right of the entrance, dishes out coffee, snacks and more substantial lunchtime fare.

Level 3 - You will find books (call numbers 600-609 and 620-999); individual study spaces, including lounge areas overlooking the University's lake and gardens; group study rooms; computers (in pods, built into the booths and in study rooms); toilets; and equipment to print, copy and scan. Library administration is located on this level.


Geelong Waterfront Campus

Level 3 - All Library services and collections are located on this level. To the left of the entrance, you will find the service desk, group study rooms and Library administration; to the right of the entrance, you can browse for information on one of our many computers, or study in the contemporary new desks along the northern and western walls of the Library. Some of these desks have a great vantage point of Western Beach Road and the bay.


Melbourne Burwood Campus

Level 1 - The majority of books are located on this level (call numbers 000-699), along with the CRC, equipment to print, copy and scan and toilets.

Level 2 (the entrance level) - To the right of the entrance is the service desk and Reserve (RSV) collection, where you can leaf through high-demand books. A gallery space is located at the left of the entrance, featuring artwork from the Deakin Art Gallery. If you walk into the Library, past the 'jazz lounge' and its bright ottomans, you will see the rest of the main book collection (call numbers 700-999), two training rooms, clusters of computers, equipment to print, copy and scan, the Deakin Card machine and toilets.

Level 3 - The main attraction is the extensive Law collection. Study options include the large postgraduate study room; individual study spaces; and group study rooms dotted throughout the level. Equipment to print, copy and scan and toilets are located on this level, along with Library administration.


Warrnambool Campus

Level 1 - This level is the place to study. It features both individual and group study spaces and equipment to print, copy or scan.

Level 2 (the entrance level) - The service desk is to your left as you walk into the Library. You will find the main book collection, reference area, computers and a seminar room. Library staff are located on this level.

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
