The obituary published in the Geelong Advertiser on 7.6.03 lodged in this collection sets out succinctly and very well Don Ingpen's contribution to Australia when he volunteered for Army service in the Second World War; to his clients and members of the legal profession as a lawyer of complete integrity; to the hard up and local organizations as honorary solicitor; to the sick as a committee member of Geelong Hospital and Queenscliff Health Centre; and to business as a member of the boards of Returned Soldiers Mill and Capital Building Society.
Always friendly, pleasant and courteous he used his legal training for the good of society and set a role model for others to follow.
