In non-journal records, the date and year are represented by an eight-digit string (e.g. 20020415) in the 008 fixed field and cannot be parsed. For reports, this string is imported into the Date field; for books, the Notes field. Users must manually move the year into the Year field after importing. Users may also wish to convert the remaining four-digit date like so: 0415 --> April 15. 2. While city data is present in the 260 tag, publisher data is generally absent for books. The company and address which imports into the Notes field originates from the 037 tag, which is Availability and not Publisher (which is why it's imported into Notes and not Publisher). It is possible, however, that for some records the company mentioned in the 037 tag is the publisher. 3. Corporate authors are sometimes imported with extraneous data, e.g. National Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults, Chicago, IL.BBB01428. In this example, users would want to manually delete ", Chicago, IL.BBB01428" or move it to the Notes field after importing. 4. Some years are presented as two-digits and are imported into the Date field. Users must manually move the year into the Year field and supply the '19' after importing. 5. Some older journal articles use a different source format and may not import correctly. In many instances, the source data will import into the Notes field, in which case users must manually parse the data, moving the volume into the Volume field, issue into the Issue field, and so on. In some cases, the source data is lost completely, but may be retrieved manually by viewing the connect log (Window > Show Connection Status > Record Data).ow Connection Status > Record Data).7EBSCO In progress.
