Plan the process and be prepared to change if it’s not
working as expected
Have the trolley in a position that is convenient for placing
books on and requires minimal twisting
Develop a routine and pace that doesn’t put any undue
pressure on an individual, i.e. holding the book while waiting
for the other staff member to take it
Avoid excessive bending of the wrist
Don’t use a forceful grip, only use the required pressure
and keep the grip expansion small
Swap positions regularly to avoid carrying out a repetitive
task for too long
Put one row of books on a trolley only
Fill two trolleys and push one each to the new section
Sit on a step stool when passing books from the lower shelves
