Moving furniture and other objects

Shelving and loans staff are frequently requested to act as porters and move furniture and other objects.

Sometimes it is inappropriate to move certain objects because of:

• weight
• size
• lack of appropriate equipment.

The porterage may have to be carried out by other staff in the University or contractors.
