Find e-readings

Journal articles and book chapters are frequently made available as electronic readings. You can often access these readings via the Library website, or your unit on Deakin Studies Online.

To find e-readings via the Library website, select the unit material link on the Library homepage:

On the Unit material search page, enter your unit code in the first search box, then limit your search results to e-readings by selecting the e-readings radio button. Click on Search.

E-readings are organised according to Year, then Trimester.

To view 'live' e-readings, you must select the current trimester.

E-readings may be in the form of a PDF, a link to a website or a link to an article in an electronic journal or database.

Follow the prompts to open the document, using your Deakin username and password

Note: There are usually two PDF links presented: the Text PDF, which has a smaller file size and downloads faster than the Image PDF, which is a scanned version of the reading and has a much larger file size.

There are no e-readings listed for my unit

This could be due to a number of reasons:

  1. You are not viewing the readings for the current trimester;
  2. Your Lecturer has not contributed any e-readings to the Library;
  3. Your e-readings are only available via Deakin Studies Online (DSO).

Check with your lecturer if you are unsure about why you can't see any e-readings for your unit.
