Information Discovery Series workshops for academic staff
The Information Discovery Series, held at all Deakin Campus Libraries in November 2011, was developed specifically for academic staff. Powerpoint presentations can be viewed below.

Digital resources for your teaching
- Discover new multimedia rich e-resources, including streamed video and image databases and learn how they can enrich your students' learning experiences. Resources to be highlighted include: Kanopy, ARTstor, Alexander Street Press, Informit TV news, and a selection of Australian multimedia resources.
- Find out how Library resource widgets in DSO can link your students to quality resources.

Research discovery through open access
- Discover the benefits of open access publishing and making your research openly accessible in Deakin Research Online, increasing visibility, citation counts and collaborative research opportunities.
- Find out how you can showcase your research by participating in the University's Seeding the Commons research data management pilot, part of an Australia-wide project.

Tracking ideas over time
- Use citation counts to find key papers and authors in specific fields of research, using the key databases - Scopus and Web of Science.
- Find out where research has been cited and by whom.
- Track the research activities of others.
- Analyse the impact of published research.
- Follow the history of an idea and the direction it has taken.
