Import filters

To download and save a filter

Please note: The filters listed below were created by staff at the University of Queensland Library. They have have been kindly provided for download to all EndNote users.

EndNote Import

When you find a reference that you wish to import to EndNote

  1. Click the title of the reference
  2. Display full details
  3. Look for Display Formats and click EndNote. A new window will open, displaying the reference.
  4. Select the whole reference (Ctrl+A) and copy it (Ctrl+C)
  5. Close the window.
  6. Open a new file in your word processor or text editor, and paste the reference into it (Ctrl+V). Continue adding further references to this file, leaving a blank line between references.
  7. Save the file as Text Only (*.txt).
  8. Import the file and select EndNote Import as the Import Option.
ARCH (Australian Architecture Database) deakinu arch informit

Download filter.

To download records from ARCH:

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. Select the SAVE Records icon
  3. Under Label Format, select Short Labels
  4. Under Fields to Save, select Complete Record
  5. Under Extra Options, uncheck the option Save Search History
  6. Under Output Format, select Plain Text
  7. Select Save Records
  8. Name and save your file
ASFA - Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts ASFA (CSA)

Filter is available from within EndNote

  1. Open EndNote.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Import filters.
  3. Select Open Filter Manager and look for ASFA (CSA).
  4. Check the box to select this filter

To download records from ASFA - Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. Select the Save,Print, Email link towards the top of the screen
  3. From the Short Format box, select Full Format
  4. Ignore all other sections, and select Save
  5. Name and save your file (make sure it is saved as a .txt Text file)
Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals deakinu avery

To download records from Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. Select the Save,Print, Email link towards the top of the screen
  3. From the Short Format box, select Full Format
  4. Ignore all other sections, and select Save
  5. Name and save your file (make sure it is saved as a .txt Text file)

To download records from Austlit

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. At the end of the search results page select All or Marked
  3. Select the format Tagged Text
  4. Click on the Show button
  5. Save as a text file (.txt)

Please note:

  1. Add required references to marked list by clicking on "Add to List" (must be registered via My Profile on Emerald homepage)
  2. Click on "Marked List" under "My Profile" to display marked items
  3. Click "display for download (ASCII)"
  4. When new window opens, use your browser's "Save As" function to save records as a Text Document (*.txt).
Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management databases including Ecology Abstracts, Health and Safety Science Abstracts and Risk Abstracts Environmental Sci (CSA)

Filter is available from within EndNote

  1. Open EndNote.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Import filters.
  3. Select Open Filter Manager and look for Environmental Sci (CSA).

Filter is available from within EndNote

  1. Open EndNote.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Import filters.
  3. Select Open Filter Manager and look for ERIC (CSA).
  4. Check the box to select this filter

To download records from ERIC

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. Select the Save,Print, Email link towards the top of the screen
  3. From the Short Format box, select Full Format
  4. Ignore all other sections, and select Save
  5. Name and save your file (make sure it is saved as a .txt Text file)

To download records: (Use Internet Explorer for searching and downloading records as Firefox's format is incompatible with EndNote)

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. From the View As menu, select Headline, Lead Paragaph, plus Indexing
  3. To format records for saving, from the output options menu, select the computer disc symbol and then select Article format
  4. Use your browser's ""Save As"" function to save records as a Text File (*.txt)
GeoRef GeoRef (CSA)

Filter is available from within EndNote

  1. Open EndNote.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Import filters.
  3. Select Open Filter Manager and look for GeoRef (CSA).
  4. Check the box to select this filter

To download records from GeoRef

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. Select the Save,Print, Email link towards the top of the screen
  3. From the Short Format box, select Full Format
  4. Ignore all other sections, and select Save
  5. Name and save your file (make sure it is saved as a .txt Text file)
Journals@OVID Journals (OVID)

Filter is available from within EndNote

  1. Open EndNote.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Import filters.
  3. Select Open Filter Manager and look for Journals (OVID)
  4. Check the box to select this filter

To download records from OVID

  1. From the displayed search results, select the reference/s for saving
  2. Go to the Results Manager at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Under Results select Selected Results
  4. Under Fields select Citation + Abstract
  5. Under Results Format select Reprint/Medlars
  6. Click on Save
  7. Choose Windows or Macintosh or Unix Style Linefeeds
  8. Click on Continue
  9. Save the records as a .txt Text File

  5. Click on Text

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. From the "Send to" drop down menu select Clipboard
  3. Click on the Clipboard tab (top of screen)
  4. From the "Summary" drop down menu select Medline
  5. From the "Sendto" drop down menu select File
  6. Save as a text file (.txt)

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving

  4. Check the box to select this filter.

To download records from SciFinder Scholar

  1. From the displayed search results, tick the reference/s for saving
  2. Click on Save As (top of results)
  3. Save as a text file (.txt)
