By placing a request for an item, you are asking that a copy of an item be reserved/held for you to borrow. An item that has been requested can not be borrowed by anyone other than the person who has requested it.
To request an item:
Please note that delivery times may vary depending on the location and availability of the item you have requested. Delivery time may be from at least 1 to 4 days. Available items that have been requested are collected by Library staff at least once a day, so please wait at least 24 hours from when you request the item to when it will be available at the Service Desk to be picked up.
You can view and cancel your requests through your My Library record.
The minimum loan period if an item is requested by another client is 14 days, except for 7 day and 1 day loan items.
Remember: It is your responsibility to ensure that items are returned to the Library by the due date.
If the item that you want is located at another campus other than your home campus, or if it is out on loan, you are able to request for it to be sent to your campus.
You will be notified by email when it becomes available for collection at the campus you have selected.
Items available for collection will be held for you at the information service desk at the campus you have selected, for 5 days.
You can request, using the 'request an item' steps above, that material from the Deakin University collection be delivered to you at your work or home address at no direct cost to you. If the item is out on loan you may place a request for it and it will be sent to you when it becomes available.
You are able to request items to be delivered to you via internal mail by selecting Staff Delivery as your pickup location. If you would prefer to pick the item up from the Library, please contact Library staff.
Items are usually not sent to staff home addresses.
Items requested by another Library client may be recalled.
