Returning items
Returning items
- All clients can return items to any campus of the Deakin University Library and After Hours return chutes are located at each of the campus libraries.
It is your responsibility to return items you have borrowed by the due date.
- Off campus students can return items using the prepaid bag supplied when the items were delivered to you. Australia Post items may be dropped into any post box or at an Australia Post outlet. For Australia Air Express (AAE) items, you will need to telephone the number listed on the bag to arrange pick-up by the AAE courier. Express Post items may be returned using the yellow (gold) post boxes where possible, or at an Australia Post outlet.
- Overseas students should return items by airmail not courier, unless otherwise arranged. You will initially have to pay return postal costs and these costs are reimbursed once the Library has received and processed the postal receipts for each package. The receipt should contain the cost of postage in local currency and the fact that items were sent to Deakin University Library. The Library will not reimburse costs paid on customs duty. Reimbursements can be deposited into an Australian bank account, or you can be sent an overseas draft (cost = $2.50). A telegraphic transfer to your overseas bank account can also be arranged, (may cost $25 or more).
Items not returned or renewed by the due date may accrue overdue points. Items long overdue will be invoiced.
Renewals may be done on items you have on loan if another Library client has requested the item you will not be able to renew it.
