Creating links to Annual Reviews

You can create a persistent link to an article within an Annual Review that Deakin has a subscription to. For more information about Annual Reviews, see the Annual Reviews database information page .

View the full text link within the Annual Review to ensure the title is available to Deakin University users in full text - some material may only available as an abstract.

Creating a link to a full text article in an Annual Review

1. Access an Annual Review using one of the following links:

2. Conduct a search.
3. From the results list you can choose to link to an Abstract, the Full Text or the PDF.
4. Click on the link to the Abstract. Under the title of the journal and the volume and page numbers, you will see a doi in brackets. For example (doi:10.1146/annurev.immunol.16.1.261). You will need this doi to build your link.
   
5. Begin your link with the ezproxy mechanism that will allow the link to be accessed off campus:
   • http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url=
6. Next you will need to add on of the following:
   • http://arjournals.annualreviews.org/doi/abs/ (if you want to link to an abstract)
   • http://arjournals.annualreviews.org/doi/full/ (if you want to link to the full text in HTML)
   • http://arjournals.annualreviews.org/doi/pdf/ (if you want to link to the full text in PDF)
7. Lastly add the information from the brackets after doi: that you located on the Abstract page for the article:
   • For example (doi:10.1146/annurev.immunol.16.1.261)
     
8. The finished link to the full text (pdf) will look similar to this:
   • http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url=http://arjournals.annualreviews.org/doi/pdf/10.1146/annurev.immunol.16.1.261
9. Paste the finished URL into your web or DSO page to create the link you require.

Creating a link to individual Annual Review

1. Preface the link for an individual title with http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url=
2. Add a URL from the list of Annual Reviews above.
3. The finished URL for the Annual Review of Medicine would look like this: http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url=http://arjournals.annualreviews.org/loi/med
4. Paste the finished URL into your web or DSO page to create the link you require.
