Link to a full text article on EBSCOhost databases

You can create a persistent link to full text articles within an EBSCOhost database.

EBSCOhost databases include:

Academic Search Complete
Business Source Complete
MasterFile Premier
and others

Example: Linking articles from Academic Search Complete database

Kevin, Tony., Australian foreign policy at the crossroads, Australian Journal of International , April 2002, Vol. 56, Issue 1, p31, 7p

Author(s): Maley, William
Title: Australian Refugee Policy: Myths and Realities.
Subject(s): REFUGEES -- Government policy; ASYLUMS; AUSTRALIA
Source: Social Alternatives, Spring2002, Vol. 21 Issue 4, p6, 5p

Example: Linking journals from Academic Search Premier database

You can also read the New Statesman for current affairs articles.

How to do it:

  1. Connect to the EBSCOHost database platform from within Deakin (You must be on campus to create a persistent link. Once the link has been created, it will work either on or off campus.)
  2. Choose the required database and execute your search
  3. On the results screen click the link to the article title - you need to be viewing the citation, not the full text link. (Don't click the Full Text or Full Page Image links.)
  4. Click on the permalink link under the tools panel on right side of screen
  5. A new box will pop up at the top of the citation with the persistent URL needed to access the article form off campus.
  6. Copy and paste this URL which should have http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url at the start
