Link to a full text article on Factiva

You can create a persistent link to articles on Factiva. Articles could be linked from reading lists, additional readings, or as a reference within the text.

NOTE "The following browsers are suggested for optimal viewing of Factiva.com: Windows 2000/XP - Internet Explorer 5.5; Macintosh - Internet Explorer 5.01." Netscape and Mozilla do not work well with the Factiva service.

Linking to articles on Factiva

  1. Connect to Factiva from this link to by pass the library's EZ Proxy authentication server. (Note: You must be on campus to use this address and create the link. The link will then work from off campus).
  2. Search for an article on the required topic.
  3. From the results list, click on the link for the required article.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the article and copy the accession number. The accession number will look something like: Document CANBTZ0020051210e1cb0001s

    The next steps involve building the URL by adding the accession number and an authentication string to a base URL

  5. You will need to begin with a base URL: http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url=http://global.factiva.com/en/du/article.asp?NAPC=S&
    AccessionNo=
  6. Next you will need to add the accession number for the article you have selected.
    The URL will then look like: http://ezproxy.deakin.edu.au/login?url=http://global.factiva.com/en/du/article.asp?NAPC=S&Accession
    No=CANBTZ0020051210e1cb0001s
  7. Lastly, you will need to add the following authentication string: xsid=S00ZGV7MDAn5DEu5DEmOTQrMTEoND7yMHn0YqYvMq382rb
