Linking to past exam papers

A link to a past exam paper may be made from within a webpage or any part of a DSO unit - text, resources, readings, etc. It may be helpful to link directly to a past exam paper as part of a resource or discussion covering revision for a unit, or preparation for the forthcoming exams.

Linking to a catalogue record for past exam papers, for example mae101

  1. From the Library homepage, enter a unit code, e.g. mae101, in the 'Unit materials' search box
  2. Select the Check Box for exam papers, then click on the 'Find unit materials' button
  3. Check you are satisfied that the exam paper/s listed are correct for your needs
  4. Click on the 'Permalink for this record' link toward the top left hand side of the screen to go to a permanent url for the record
  5. The permanent URL will be displayed in the location or address window
  6. Highlight and copy the URL. You can then use it to create a direct link to the exam paper record.
    The following is an example of a permanent URL for an exam paper record. http://library.deakin.edu.au/record=b2080743~S1

 

Linking directly to the exam paper in pdf, for example AIH266 exam paper for semester 2 2009

  1. From the Library homepage, enter a unit code, e.g. aih266, in the 'Unit materials' search box
  2. Select the Check Box for exam papers then click on the 'Find unit materials' button
  3. Click on the 'Display MARC record' link toward the top of the screen
  4. Look for the URLs in the 962 field as shown in the following example. Note: There is a separate URL for each exm paper that was listed in the catalogue record. They can be distinguished by year and semester (s1 or s2).

  6. Highlight and copy the required URL. You can then use it to create a direct link to the exam paper.

    Note: Be careful not to include any surrounding text, spaces or symbols. You may also need to remove a carriage return from within the URL.
