Getting Started : a Library checklist

  • Locate your Library ID
    Your Library ID is the number located at the bottom of your Deakin Card, underneath the barcode.
    It begins with "X011" x zero one one eg. x0115001001011

  • Login to My Library
    Check your borrowing record, renew loans, view your reading history and change your PIN.

  • Contact your Liaison Librarian
    The library liaison service supports the University’s teaching and learning and research endeavours with the targeted delivery of appropriate information services and resources. Liaison Librarians are assigned to all schools and non-faculty areas of the University

  • Register for Interlibrary Loans
    Items not held by Deakin University may be borrowed from other libraries through the Interlibrary Loans service. Before you begin to request interlibrary loans, it's necessary to register.

  • Obtain information about photocopying, printing and scanning
    Cards for photocopying and printing are usually arranged through your school administrative staff..

  • Use other libraries
    If you wish to use libraries of other universities or TAFEs within Victoria you will need a CAVAL card, which you may obtain from any campus Library. To use interstate university libraries a reciprocal arrangement is available.
