Borrowing information for MIBT students
Borrowing within Deakin
To borrow in person
- You must
have your MIBT student card.
- Borrow from the Inquiries and information service desk at any campus or use the Library's Express Loans Unit.
Library ID (borrowing) number
- Your borrowing number is located at the bottom of your Deakin Card, underneath the barcode and begins with X011....
Borrowing Entitlements
- 20 items,
- for 14 days,
- with up to 3 renewals of each item- if not requested by another user.
- Please note: MIBT students are not eligible to borrow from other Australian Universities and Victorian TAFEs nor through BONUS+.
My Library
Check your My Library record :
- for what you have out on loan,
- to renew loans,
- to view your reading history, (what you have borrowed previously)
Items at other campuses
- You can request an item from another campus to be sent to your nominated campus for pick up.
Returning items
- Items can be returned at any campus library.
- You can renew an item you have on loan if it is not required by another user, or it is not long overdue.
Overdues points, invoices, encumbrances.
- Items must be returned or renewed by the due date.
- The Library does not charge monetary fines for overdue items, instead an overdue point system is used. If you obtain 100 overdue points you will not be able to borrow from the Library for 2 weeks.
- There are times when you will be invoiced for items you have borrowed, and the Library enforces encumbrances for unpaid invoices.
Past exams
Request items out on loan
- You are able to request on an item that is out on loan, and when available, it will be sent to your nominated campus for pick up, where it will be held for you for 5 days.
