Linking to articles

Using a DOI to link to articles

Many databases use a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to create stable links to articles. Databases using DOIs include:

  • ScienceDirect
  • SpringerLink
  • Wiley Online

To create a stable link

  1. Locate the DOI for the article.

In this screenshot, the DOI follows http://dx.doi.org/
  2. Copy the DOI or full URL and paste into our direct linking form to create a stable link.

Linking to articles without a DOI

Look for terms like 'Permalink', 'Document URL', or 'Bookmark'.

  1. Locate the link and copy.
  2. Paste this into our direct linking form to build a stable link.
