Personalised library support

Liaison Librarians are subject-specialist librarians with extensive knowledge of a range of resources in your discipline area. We offer a broad range of services to support your teaching and research.

You can make an appointment for a one-to-one session or take advantage of our Librarian-in-Residence program. Once a week a Liaison Librarian is located in the Faculties and several research centres to support your teaching and research needs.

Examples of typical consultations include, but are not limited to:

  • development of online materials which can be embedded into CloudDeakin, designed to help improve students' information-seeking skills
  • how to set up alerts to latest research in your subject from key databases and e-journal collections
  • identifying high impact journals in your research area
  • how to use EndNote
  • one-to-one or group training on databases, particularly those relevant to your discipline
  • providing advice on showcasing your research output through the University research repository, Deakin Research Online
  • reviewing and recommending publications to update reading lists
  • putting you in touch with processes for obtaining documents not held by the Library, using the BONUS+ and Interlibrary Loan borrowing schemes.

To arrange a personal consultation or find out more about the Librarian-in-Residence program, please contact your Liaison Librarian.
