Have you used the 'off air recording' service in the past and still need access to programs broadcast to free-to-air networks? Or would you just like to access something you’ve seen on TV for use in your teaching?
The Library supports your move to cloud learning through the provision of streamed videos and can help you access the materials you require from our many online providers.
We provide access to a great range of DVDs and streaming video titles to support you in your teaching and research. These resources are easy to access and you currently have access to over 17,000 DVDs and over 33,000 streamed videos through extensive databases such as Kanopy, Informit TV News, Informit Edu TV and Enhance TV.
The following databases offer an extensive range of programs. You can explore these databases at any time to discover new content that may interest you and support your teaching, or browse the specific database that best matches the type of material you are looking for.
Kanopy streaming website
The Library currently has access to over 520 streamed titles via Kanopy. Kanopy also provides access to some of the world’s most creative filmmakers and respected distributors, offering tertiary institutions an ever-growing library of over 15,000 videos across diverse content areas like architecture, teacher education, health and safety, culture and politics in media, and health studies. Additional programs can be accessed upon request to support your courses.
Informit TV News
TVNews is a database that lets you search and retrieve news stories and related current affairs programs broadcast by free-to-air networks - ABC, ABC2, SBS, TEN, 9 and 7. Programs are updated daily and an email alert service is offered to help you track the stories that matter to you.
Informit Edu TV
Informit EduTV is an online TV streaming resource for Australian tertiary institutions and makes it easy for lecturers and students to find and instantly watch relevant television content. Programs including documentaries, drama and series complemented with study guides and articles are accessible via computer, tablet or smartphone. Most programs are made available within one week of broadcast.
You can use the Search or Discover More options on the Library website to check what DVD titles are available. Don’t forget to further refine any search by DVD Video format, on the left hand side of your search results page.
