Creating reference lists

There are a number of referencing styles, and each includes the same basic parts of a reference (also referred to as a citation) but may organise them differently. Each school of Deakin University has a preferred referencing style. Check with your lecturer to establish which style your school uses.

In this module you will learn how to formally cite resources using the author-date (Harvard) style. Detailed information about all styles, including examples is available from the University website.
