Internet Resources

Elements to be included in a citation for an Internet resource are:

  • Author OR Institution Name
  • Year
  • Title of the webpage
  • Name of organisation or person responsible for the site
  • Date retrieved
  • <URL>

A typical example using the author-date style is shown below:

Campbell, LM & Waddell, CD 1997, Electronic curbouts: how to build an accessible
     website
, Product Works, retrieved 28 May 2003, <http://www.prodworks.com/
     ilf/ecc.htm>.

The retrieval date is included because the address and content of many Internet resources change from time to time. The presence of the date you accessed a work indicates that it was available and accessible on that date.
