Q&A with Aspin

Why did you choose this area of study?

As an architect there is the opportunity to improve the lives of others through enhancing their living conditions. Through studying architecture I want to one day positively influence the lives of others.

Why Deakin?

The dual streams of construction management and architecture design made Deakin incredibly appealing. The international opportunities Deakin provides were also appealing to me.

What is the best opportunity you have had at Deakin?

Engaging with research has been an opportunity I have found unique to Deakin. Travelling overseas on the iDiDe international design studio also dramatically enhanced my outlook moving forward as a student and architect.

Deakin insider tip?

Reserve books at the library - it's the best time saver. Joining student societies is a great way to network within your course, across multiple year levels.

How has your experience at Deakin affected your life?

It has reoriented my focus and passion in life, as well as forged some great social and professional connections.

Any recommendations for someone considering Deakin?

The flexibility of Deakin's trimester has made it easier to shuffle units around and maintain a working life while studying.
