Communications and Branding

The Communications and Branding Unit assists with communication of the Deakin brand and manages and protects the University's brand image.

Our objectives are to:
  • Produce items which are creative and distinctive in the marketplace
  • Create content which addresses the information needs of the audience
  • Analyse the best method of production/distribution
  • Identify the ideal delivery time and achieve timely delivery
  • Ensure information is accurate and comprehensive
  • Measure the response to/impact of these items in the marketplace
  • Provide consistent information for online and print mediums
The unit is also responsible for the University's advertising and branding and has a prime responsibility to develop, manage and evaluate effective advertising and brand strategies which also includes merchandise. The focus is on conveying a brand image that reinforces and differentiates Deakin and raises the University's profile. A key component of the role is to manage the application of the Deakin brand visually.
