Heart Risk Assessments - May 2012
In support of National Heart Week's awareness raising campaign in early May about the warning signed of heart conditions, Deakin University's Clinical Exercise Learning Centre ran free heart risk assessments. Staff, family, friends and members of the community underwent a number of tests during their appointment and received 'Healthy Heart' information.

Deakin’s Burwood Highway frontage building out of the ground
Deakin University’s new Burwood Highway building, to be know as Building BC is taking shape and will accommodate teaching and non-laboratory research spaces, offices, meeting rooms, Visitor Information Centre and retail precinct.
It is being constructed to a 5 Green Star plus standard. In addition to the active façade, environmentally sustainable design features include under floor air distribution, active mass cooling, low energy usage, high water efficiency, solar hot water and cyclist facilities.
Like other facilities on campus such as the art gallery, library, cafes and restaurant, Building BC’s north facing courtyard, open spaces and retail area will be accessible to the community. With an additional 371 car parking spaces, it is scheduled for completion and handover early in 2014.
