Deakin University was established in 1979 as the first university located in regional Victoria. Deakin in Geelong has two campuses at Waurn Ponds, on the western edge of the historic port city of Geelong, and our Waterfront Campus on the foreshore of Corio Bay in the central business district. Today Geelong is Victoria's largest regional centre with a population of more than 220,000.
