Graduate Certificate of e-Crime

(Offered to continuing students only)

The aim of the Graduate Certificate of e-Crime is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of crimes and problems associated with their detection and prosecution.  It does so from an interdiscplinary perspective by combining units from the School of Law and School of Information Systems so that students receive a comprehensive coverage of the relevant law and of the associated technical material.  Students will develop an understanding of the dimensions and incidence of e-Crime, the techniques for its detection and strategies for the implementation of eBusiness security.  The course will enhance the opportunities of students seeking to work with law enforcement or regulatory agencies or in developing and managing e-Crime security.

The course comprises one compulsory unit and three elective units which can be completed in one year of part time study.

Admission requirements:  a three year undergraduate degree from an approved institution or five years relevant work experience.

More information on course rules and structure for the Graduate Certificate of e-Crime is available from Deakin's online handbook.
