Internet Communication Features.
- Access to HTML documents stored as local files (ie. on the
user's hard disk or floppy disk).
- Web pages can display both text and in-line images. In-line
images are optional.
- Downloading of files from FTP servers.
- Multimedia display and replay capabilities which include the
ability to:
- view the following graphics file types: BMP, GIF, CMS, ICO,
JPG, TIF, WMF, SCM, PCX, and PNG;
- view AVI and MOV video files; and
- listen to WAV and MID audio files.
- File types that cannot be displayed can be saved to the
user's hard disk so that they can be viewed by other
applications.
- HTML documents can be saved to disk in either HTML or ASCII
format. NOTE. Saving in ASCII format enables the document to be
brought easily into other applications - such as speech
readers.
- MultiWeb supports Internet forms including access for users who
are unable to operate a mouse or keyboard.
- Internet addresses in the form of Uniform Resource Locaters
(URLs) can be entered directly to allow access to specific
sites.
- URLs can be saved as Bookmarks to facilitate easy access
later.
- Users can move between documents by using the Back and Forward
navigation buttons.
- Users can view a history of all pages visited during the
current session and return to them.
- Users can specify a Home Page.
- The communication's status is displayed.
- The current document's title and the current location
within the document are displayed.
- The URL of the current hotlinks is displayed in the status
bar.
- MultiWeb includes links to search engines. Users have the
option to add or delete search engines from the supplied list.
- MultiWeb has a Find function.
- The current document can be printed.
- Document contents can be copied to the Windows clipboard for
pasting into other applications.
- Multiweb incorporates up on-line help.

Disability-specific Features.
The following functions are available:
- Users can zoom in and zoom out of displayed text while
viewing.
- All error messages are timed and do not require user
interaction.
- Sound and video files can be paused and restarted. A gauge
indicates the current location within the media file.

MultiWeb Limitations.
MultiWeb does not support some Internet functions including:
- Frames.
- Java or Java script.
- Mailto.
- Gopher.
- Secure HTML.
- Telnet.
- Authentication of proxies.
It is important to be aware that many HTML documents available on
the Internet have been designed in a way that makes them
inaccessible even with MultiWeb.
