In this section there are instructions for using the Simple interface. This is a basic email interface that lets you read, write and send mail.
The MultiMail package has two separate programs: the MultiMail User Options (MMOptons.exe) and the MultiMail email program (MMail.exe).
The User Option Program will close. Now open the MultiMail program.
You are ready to use MultiMail.
The InBox is the first screen you will see. The InBox holds your incoming mail.
The Inbox screen is divided into four sections:
The sender of the mail is highlighted as a link. The first link you see in the InBox is Help. Jump from the Help link before you choose a link to read. Move through links on the page using the Jump button. The active link changes colour. It is the link that you jump to or choose.
The InBox is MultiMail’s basic point of entry and exit. If you are in another screen in MultiMail, you can go to the InBox from:
by clicking on the InBox button.
The OutBox has the mail you have sent. The OutBox is reached by clicking on the Outbox button on the button bar. Active, highlighted links are used in the OutBox, just as they are in the InBox.
The OutBox screen is divided into four sections:
Status: Snt in this column tells you that your mail has been sent Que in this column tells you that you mail is queued ready to send Sender: This is the person you sent the mail to Date: This is the date the mail was sent Subject: This is the topic of the message
Read lets you read the contents of the message of the link you choose. There are two ways you can read messages:
If you chose the Speech option, you can hear the Header and message by clicking on the Speak button on the button bar.
You can reply to the person who sent you a message. After you have read the message, click the Reply button. Type your message. Click the Send button to send your message.
You do not need to check for new mail. With the Simple Interface, mail is automatically sent to your InBox.
Write lets you write a new email message. The Inbox is the first screen you will see and you can choose to Write or read a message.
When you choose Write, you will be asked to fill in some text boxes. The information in these boxes is the Header Information. Header information tells the reader of your mail
You will need to type information in boxes as they appear on the screen. The first box is Send email to:
You can finish a draft of a message you have written. First, click on the Write button. Click on Get Draft. A new page will be shown with draft messages. Jump to or click on the subject you want.
The person's email address will be shown on screen. Or, type the name of the person the email is to if you have not already done that. Click Next. The subject of the email will be shown on the screen. Click Next. The full draft email will be shown on the screen.
Use the mouse or the tab key until the cursor is where you want it. Now edit your message. You can send your message or save it as a Draft. To save as a Draft, click Save. Then click the Cancel button.
If you want to send your message, click the Send button. The message will be deleted from Drafts and will appear in the OutBox.
