Fringe Festival Performance: 3D - A Dance Assault in Three Dimensions

posted: 23 09 2011

A collaborative performance piece by Higher Degree by Research students Megan Beckwith and Steph Hutchison at the 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Venue: No Vacancy Project Space, Federation Square, Melbourne

Time: 30th September: 5pm, 6pm, 7pm;  1st & 2nd October: 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm

Tickets: $5

3D is an immersive experience in an intimate space.  Megan Beckwith and Steph Hutchens combine live dance with stereoscopic animation to create works to be seen, heard and felt.  Performances are limited to 15 people per show, with four to five shows per day and 3D glasses will be available for your use at the show. There are four 3D dance works to choose from: Time for Tea; Bone Idol; Closer; and Bugged with music by sound artist Jacques Soddell.  These live and animated performances will transport you to new worlds where the line between what is real and virtual blurs.   See what could happen if bugs really did take over the world, and
witness a dancing skeleton that tries to escape from its body.  Experience the lonely bride without even water for her cup of tea and an angel from paradise caught in a storm.  3D is on for 3 days only at the No Vacancy Project Space at Federation Square.
