Natural disaster crisis assistance

Information for current students and students planning on commencing studies in 2012

Deakin University wishes to help you stay at University or continue with your plans to start University this year. To do this we have put together a package of support. Students directly affected by the recent floods in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales are eligible for a special natural disaster assistance package which may include:

•    A grant of up to $1000 to replace essential study materials and supplies
•    Assistance with accommodation requirements
•    Priority access to the University rental assistance scheme (to help with the cost of renting off-campus)
•    Book vouchers for academic books and materials from the on-campus book shops
•    Interest free loans of up to $2000 and assistance with other financial advice
•    Personal support counselling

Australian Government financial assistance

Students may be eligible for Government Assistance.
