Deakin receives strongest result to date in World University Rankings

Deakin has ranked equal 355 in the 2009 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, up from equal 396 in 2008.

This is Deakin's strongest result to date in the Times rankings and places the University at equal 21st among Australian universities based on overall score.

Among the rankings for individual subject areas, Deakin also achieved its best results yet, receiving a rank of 209 in social sciences and 289 in life sciences and biomedicine. These results place Deakin 13th and 16th respectively among Australian institutions in these areas.

Deakin's results in the Times Higher Education Rankings are available at the Top Universities web site.

The Times Higher Education rankings are based on results from academic peer review and employer surveys and on measures of teaching quality, research strength and international focus derived from data collected from universities.

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
