Deakin University marketing courses have been given the quality seal of approval from Australia’s peak professional marketing body.

Deakin Business School’s Master of Marketing and the marketing major within the Bachelor of Commerce have been accredited by the Australian Marketing Institute, a sign that the courses best meet the needs of employers and provide marketing graduates with an optimum set of skills and knowledge.

The AMI accreditation is further recognition that the Deakin Business School is providing the very best in business education. Already this year the School was accredited by AACSB International, the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools in the world, the Deakin MBA was ranked in the world’s Top 20 online MBAs by Quacquarelli Symonds and the MBA and Bachelor of Commerce degrees were both re-accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development’s International accreditation system (EPAS).

Professor John Hall, Head of the Department of Marketing, said the AMI accreditation was welcome recognition that the Deakin Business School’s marketing program is of the highest standard.

“Being accredited by Australia’s premier professional marketing body is independent assurance of the quality and practicality of our marketing courses,” Professor Hall said.

“Students, employers, industry partners and alumni can be confident that our courses produce graduates with the business and marketing skills needed to be genuinely job ready.”

Both courses were extensively redeveloped in 2015 to make sure they connected with industry needs, by inviting industry speakers into all classes, setting authentic real world assignments and fostering work integrated projects.

“There is also constant updating of teaching material to reflect this most dynamic of all business disciplines,” Professor Hall said.

“Our world class research also informs our teaching. As a result, our graduates leave us with practical, up to date business skills and strong knowledge of the best marketing ideas.”
