Khalil’s story

Response Manager for Iraq World Vision

Khalil Naaman Sleiman

Khalil’s job at World Vision International opened the door for his sponsorship at the Humanitarian Leadership Programme. His own history as a Lebanese native of war-torn Beirut, fuelled his passion to be the best humanitarian leader he could possibly be. Khalil spent his youth as an internally displaced person (IDP) continually seeking sanctuary in a city that became increasingly less safe. This formative experience of the Middle East gave Khalil the strength and courage to help children from similar communities affected by conflict. These days, his humanitarian work with child refugees and their families requires leadership of the highest standard.

Khalil’s leadership training helps in his day-to-day planning of crisis management. He recognises that he has developed new ways in which he is able to communicate with all people, across all fields, in the middle of a humanitarian crisis. Even though he is busier than he’s ever been, Khalil is now able to stay focused and committed and motivate his team members to execute the plan of action that he’s devised. Khalil remains dedicated to his, and all, children in making their unwritten futures as peaceful as they possibly can be. With everything he’s witnessed, it’s remarkable that his love of life is greater than it’s ever been.

Without your help, Khalil’s story would never have been told.

Please keep giving whatever you can afford to help our humanitarian leaders, so that they can help those who need it, wherever the next crisis strikes.
