Science

Science at Deakin covers a range of study areas including the Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Forensic Science and the Bachelor of Science.

Students gain experience through innovative practical programs, as well as professional practice units, which have been designed to enable students to develop job skills and an understanding of future workplaces.

Take a tour through the Science Laboratories to see the sophisticated equipment used in teaching and research. Talk with the current students conducting experiments and giving demonstrations on forensic detection.

Biomedical Science

The growth industry of the 21st century, a degree in biomedical science can lead you to a career in biomedical research, veterinary science, genetic counselling, patent law, genetic engineering, hospital and laboratory science, pharmaceutical/medical sales, as well as further studies in medicine.

Zoology and Animal Science – new course in 2012

12.30–1.00 pm
Building ka, Room ka3.410

This new course for 2012 is targeted towards students with an interest in animal biology. The course will explore animal diversity, ecology and behaviour, comparative physiology, biochemistry, genetics, evolutionary biology and animal nutrition.

The course offers a significant field-based component allowing students to gain hands-on experience in these study areas using native Australian fauna and ecosystems.
