At Deakin University, a course is a program of study leading to the award of a degree. A course comprises of a number of subjects, called 'units'.
Each unit at Deakin University is managed by a team of staff who are responsible for various aspects of the unit including, most importantly, the assessment. Your teacher(s) are members of this team, and will be in regular communication with the other members of the team throughout the semester. Each team has a Unit Chair, responsible for the overall coordination of the unit.
Your local tutor provides a supplementary program to your unit. It is important that you check and become familiar with what to expect from Deakin University directly, and what to expect from the staff in your institution delivering aspects of your study.
