The Guide provides a range of information about the University. There are five sections:
| Legislation | Deakin University Act 1974 and University Statutes and Regulations |
| Policies, procedures and rules | Complete list of Deakin University policies, procedures, and rules |
| Plans, guidelines and other information | Plans, reports, handbooks, fees schedules, calendars, manuals and other University documents |
| Committees | Composition and membership, meeting schedules, agendas, minutes |
| Forms | Downloadable University forms for use by staff and students |
Each section of The Guide has its own search function, but if you are unsure of where the information you might need may be, the search button on the left of each screen will search the entire Guide.
University staff and students can bookmark information they often need to refer to. Clicking the 'Add to Favourites' button at the top left corner of a document creates a link to it via 'Your Guide Bookmarks', located at the left of screen. This link can then be accessed directly from wherever in The Guide you are.
