Transition between levels

Moving from one level of studies to another

Many students choose to continue studies at degree level with Deakin University after completing certificate- or diploma-level studies. You may experience some uncertainty and new challenges when commencing studies at the higher academic level.

There can be different expectations of the quality of your assignment work. Your units may be delivered in a number of new ways such as small tutorial groups or online. It is important that you are prepared for the different modes of delivery and so skills such as note-taking, summary writing, essay writing, referencing, report writing might be quite different to your previous experience.

Go to the academic skills resource website and see which of the numerous topics would be relevant for you so that you develop the necessary skills to enable you to produce high quality work.
