Australian Graduate Survey - Undergraduate Report

The Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) is an annual survey of graduates from Australian higher education institutions who have recently completed an award course. The survey consists of two parts, the Graduate Destination Survey (GDS) and the Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ). The GDS asks graduates about their work, study and job seeking activities after completing their course, while the CEQ asks graduates to reflect on their experience of the recently completed course. Graduates who complete the requirements for a higher degree by research receive the Postgraduate Research Experience Questionnaire (PREQ).

The survey is conducted annually by all higher education institutions within Australia in association with Graduate Careers Australia (GCA). The survey is conducted approximately four months following completion of the course. Published results report on graduates who completed their course in the previous year. For example, 2007 reports relate to graduates who completed their course in 2006. A ‘Read Me’ document is available to assist in the interpretation of statistics used in reporting AGS outcomes.

Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ): New time-series 2010

An amendment was made by Graduate Careers Australia (GCA) to the 2010 survey instrument, whereby labels were added to response points 2-4 on the survey instrument that were intended to help respondents better and more uniformly interpret the points. As a result there has been a significant increase in CEQ outcomes. The affect of this change, that is, the significant increase in CEQ outcomes, heralds the beginning of a new time-series for the 2010 survey of 2009 graduates.
