Student Evaluation of Teaching and Units
About the SETU
The Student Evaluation of Teaching and Units (SETU) is a University-wide survey
which gives all students the opportunity to give feedback of their experience
of the units they study. Every unit offered must be evaluated as stated
in the Deakin University Evaluation
of Teaching and Units Operational Policy.
The survey was introduced across Deakin University in semester 1 of
2003 and is held towards the end of each semester. In 2003, paper-based
and online questionnaires were offered. Since 2004 the survey has been
conducted online for almost all students.
The survey administration, analysis and reporting of the results is performed
by the Strategic Intelligence and Planning Unit.
Results from each unit evaluation survey for individual units are publicly available
through the Unit
Evaluation website.
