Research interests

Dr Timperios research is focused on understanding the range of influences on physical activity, eating behaviours and weight status, particularly among children and adolescents, and over critical life transition periods (e.g., childhood to adolescence, adolescence to young adulthood). She is involved in several longitudinal studies that examine individual, social and environmental influences on behaviour. A major focus of her recent work has been understanding and measuring neighbourhood food and physical activity environments. Dr Timperios other research interests include: physical activity measurement; the behavioural epidemiology of weight control; and evaluation of health promotion and public health interventions.
