Research

Research interests

Claire’s research interest is in the area of salt (sodium) and fruit and vegetable (potassium) intakes of different populations. The research focuses on several different aspects of dietary intakes and outcomes:
• the intake of sodium and potassium within populations
• factors which influence total intakes of sodium and potassium
• the main sources of sodium in diets of populations
• the main types (and amounts) of fruit and vegetables consumed by populations
• potential health benefits that decreased intakes of salt and increased intakes of fruit and vegetables may have on certain populations (e.g. with respect to blood pressure)
