Claudia Strugnell is a Reseach Fellow within the WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention at Deakin University. Claudia's research centres around the umbrella of child and adolescent obesity, with a particular focus on community-based interventions, physical activity, sedentary behaviour, body composition and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
Claudias PhD investigated the influences associated with physical activity, sedentary behaviour, overweight and obesity and abdominal obesity among a sample of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) adolescents in metropolitan Melbourne, Australia.
Claudia has been involved in teaching several units at the undergraduate and post-graduate level in the areas of obesity prevention, physical activity and nutritional assessment. In 2013, Claudia was the Honours Co-Course Leader in the School of Health and Social Development.
