Ms Allyson Odgers Bachelor of Nursing Geelong Waterfront Campus Graduated: 2010 ‘I chose to study Nursing because I wanted to work in a field where, every day, I could feel like I made a difference to someone's life. Deakin’s course was exactly what I was looking for. I also lived in the residences at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus for three years and loved it! In the second year of my degree I had the opportunity to go on a two-week Thailand Study Tour working in Bangkok and the outer provinces' public and private hospitals, community centres and health posts, and living in the nursing headquarters at Mahidol University. It was an amazing opportunity and I learnt so many skills in assisting patients of other ethnicities. I am now undertaking my graduate year at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. In the future I hope to do further study in critical care and midwifery and would like to work as a midwife in a rural area.’ Find more information at http://www.deakin.edu.au/future-students/areas-of-study/nursing.php |
