Mr Bramwell Morton
Bachelor of Nursing
Warrnambool Campus and Melbourne Burwood Campus

Graduated: 2006
Employed: Agency Nurse

While studying a Bachelor of Nursing degree at Deakin, Bramwell enjoyed a diverse range of clinical placements in South Australia and Queensland, as well as rural and metropolitan areas of Victoria. But the diversity didn’t stop there. After completing his studies, Bramwell moved to Darwin for his graduate nursing year and has never looked back. He has taken on a number of challenging and rewarding roles, and plans to travel and work overseas in the future.

Bramwell knew he wanted to be a nurse from an early age and chose the Bachelor of Nursing at Deakin based on his experiences while still at school. ‘I worked in my school holidays to gain experience in nursing and had the opportunity to work with students from different universities. The Deakin Nursing students always seemed to have a good theory base and were well prepared for the placements they attended,’ he says.

Bramwell commenced his degree at the Warrnambool Campus before moving to the Melbourne Burwood Campus to complete his studies. ‘Studying at Deakin provided me with exposure to a broad range of experiences and diverse roles in a short period of time. I worked in small country hospitals, large metropolitan hospitals, operating theatres, a crisis assessment team, and in an aged care community assessment team.’

‘Deakin’s Bachelor of Nursing provided me with a comprehensive foundation of theory and practical skills that I am still drawing on. The staff were always interested in my learning experience and have provided me with continuous support while I was studying and even to this day.’
