Ms Cobi Crispin
Bachelor of Social Work, and Australian Paralympian (Wheelchair Basketball)

Cobi loves putting on the green and gold for Australia counting down the days until her next match. As one of the top scorers of the team with a motto of “train hard and win”, Cobi is central to Australia’s gold medal hopes for wheelchair basketball at the London 2012 Paralympics.

A successful Olympic debut winning bronze in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics followed up with silver at the Osaka Cup and named in the All Stars team after Gold in the 2011 Asia-Oceania Championships, Cobi is ready for Olympic gold. The recent win at the 2012 World Challenge in Germany defeating Germany in the final with Merritt (14 points) and Cobi (13 points) just weeks before the Paralympics means the Australian Gliders will be Gold medal favourites.

When not on the court Cobi is pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work at Deakin University with an innovative approach emphasising personal, community and social development in local and global contexts.

As a recognised Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU), Deakin provides support and flexibility to elite athletes to ensure students can manage competing goals and dreams.
