Ms Katherine Chan
Bachelor of Physical Education*

Deakinís Bachelor of Physical Education* course offers students an abundance of theoretical grounding and practical training, both of which are fundamental in the development of physical educators. The practical experiences I acquired at Deakin will ensure I can successfully and effectively teach with confidence.

Being surrounded by people at University who were passionate about physical education was inspiring. My lecturers were always available and willing to help me throughout my course and I believe that we have developed relationships that will continue into the future.

The things I enjoyed most about my course were the teaching practicum experiences. Throughout my four years at Deakin I was given the opportunity to experience a wide range of schooling environments where I was encouraged to teach as much as possible. I believe that these experiences were where I was truly able to see myself as a teacher. During these placements I grew significantly, not only as a pre-service teacher but as a person.

Now, I wake up each and every day knowing that I am going to do something that I love and have a passion for. I see every day as a learning opportunity and I look forward to what each day brings.

The thing I enjoy most about teaching is having the opportunity to watch each student move towards reaching their highest potential and future success. I love seeing the smile on studentsí faces and I enjoy walking into the classroom each and every day.í

* Now Bachelor of Health and Physical Education.
