Research

Research interests

Dr Howletts research program is focused on understanding the physiological, cellular and molecular responses to exercise. In particular, her research examines the underlying mechanisms which mediate the beneficial effects of exercise on skeletal muscle insulin action, and the translation of this for the treatment and prevention of insulin resistance and associated disorders.
