Biography

Biography

Mahbub Sarkar is a Research Fellow in Deakin University. He is also involved with several research projects in the Faculty of Education and the Department of Economics at Monash University. He completed PhD in science education from Monash University and received Post-graduate Publication Award.  His doctoral study explored science teachers’ perspectives, practices and challenges in regards to the promotion of scientific literacy. His research interests include improving the quality of science teaching to increase student engagement and working with teachers on promoting values in their science teaching in an effort to better understand the development of scientific literacy with students. Recent publications have appeared in International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education, Research in Science & Technology Education and Asia-pacific Forum on Science Learning and Teaching.
