I joined Deakin University in 2004. After completing my doctorate in Economics in 2001 I worked at Monash University Malaysian campus from 2001 to 2004. I completed by Bachelor and Masters in Economics degrees from University of Rajshahi, which immediately preceded my career there at the same department as a lecturer and Assistant Professor from 1991 to 1995.
I have published in a number of reputed journals including Economic Modelling, Journal of Policy Modelling, Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Applied Energy, Energy Policy and Australian Economic Papers; and encompassing areas of productivity, applied econometric modelling, banking efficiency, oil price and housing price volatility. I was awarded Vice-Chancellor’s gold medals for academic excellence for both my masters and bachelor degree courses at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
