Biography
Zim Nwokora is an Associate Professor in Politics and Policy Studies at Deakin University. A comparative political scientist by training, his research examines theoretical and empirical questions about political party systems, constitutional structures and democracy. This research is informed by close attention to politics in the United States, Nigeria, United Kingdom and Australia.
Before commencing at Deakin in 2016, he held a McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellowship at Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, and before that a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Governance and Public Policy, Griffith University (Brisbane, Australia). He holds a bachelor's degree (in Politics and Economics), a master's degree (in Comparative Government), and a doctorate degree (in American Politics), all from the University of Oxford. His post-doctoral experience includes research methods courses at the University of Michigan (statistics, game theory) and at the University of Mannheim (EITM: empirical implications of theoretical models), as well as a Visiting Fellowship at the European University Institute, Florence.
